A new era for audio capture has arrived with Sonaura, a breakthrough studio-grade MEMS
microphone technology. Sonaura combines RØDE’s industry-leading audio engineering with cutting edge semiconductor expertise to fundamentally redefine how professional audio is captured.
Sonaura represents the next frontier in professional audio technology, delivering exceptional sound fidelity, precision and durability in an ultra-compact 4mm x 5mm form factor. Engineered to the high standards of RØDE, it introduces a new class of MEMS microphone performance with outstanding signal clarity, enhanced resilience and versatile applications, making it an ideal solution for content creators, broadcasters and audio professionals across every discipline.
“What we’ve achieved with Sonaura was once considered impossible. We have always been relentless in our pursuit of
delivering the highest quality audio, and Sonaura is not only proof of that unwavering commitment,
but a testament to RØDE’s ethos of shattering barriers and crushing conventions. We’ve created a
foundational audio platform on which the future of sound will be built, wholly revolutionising
recording technology as we know it.” – Freedman Group Founder and Chairman Peter Freedman AM
With an industry-leading 83dB signal-to-noise ratio and ultra-low self-noise of just 11dBA, Sonaura delivers outstanding clarity and true broadcast-grade sound, while offering greater durability than traditional professional microphone technologies. Measuring just 4mm x 5mm and powered by a low-noise ASIC, Sonaura pushes beyond traditional audio design limits, delivering high-end performance in an ultra-compact size. This enables easy integration into devices where quality audio was not possible before, opening new opportunities for broadcasting, filmmaking and content creation.
Sonaura will make its debut across select next-generation products within the RØDE and wider Freedman Group lineup, beginning with the L1 lavalier microphone from Freedman Group company Lectrosonics. These launches mark the first step in a broader rollout of the Sonaura platform, bringing its studio-grade performance to professional wireless, broadcast and production environments.
